Members of Prof. Li Zhijie's laboratory in the Institute of Ophthalmology at JNU's School of Medicine have published their findings in Mucosal Immunology, a journal of Nature. The research, published under the title Antibiotic-induced dysbiosis of gut microbiota impairs corneal development in postnatal mice by affecting CCR2 negative macrophage distribution, revealed a new mechanism by which antibiotic-induced dysbiosis of gut microbiota impairs corneal development. The co-first authors of this research are Liu Jun, an associate professor in the School of Medicine, and Wu Mingjuan, a postgraduate student in regenerative medicine.
Funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China's Post-Doctoral Science Fund and the Guangdong Doctoral Fund, the main research platform consists of the Institute of Ophthalmology and the Ministry of Education's key laboratory of regenerative medicine.
